What is Turbostratic

Graphene?

Our graphene has a very special characteristic. This means that at the atomic level, the structure of the carbon atoms is “turbostratic” in its orientation. In simple terms, this means that instead of layers of carbon atoms aligning directly above one another in a latticework array, the layers are slightly rotated, or twisted, relative to each other.

This turbostratic orientation is rare and very beneficial especially as it relates to Energy Storage.

ProCNano is a hydrophilic form of turbostratic graphene derived from Faradyne-Aurora Biochar, optimally suited for concrete reinforcement and other water-based uses, among many other applications.

  • 91% Carbon

  • Hydrophilic

  • 7-25 microns

  • High-Quality Turbostratic Graphene

  • Electrical Conductivity (2,000 Siemens/cm)

ProCene is Faradyne’s highest purity turbostratic graphene, further refined from ProCNano, with unmatched conductivity and energy storage capacity.

  • 99.9% Carbon

  • Hydrophobic

  • 7-25 microns

  • Very High-Quality Turbostratic Graphene

  • Electrical Conductivity (40,000 Siemens/cm)

Graphix is a turbostratic graphene blend optimally designed to advantageously replace graphite currently used in Li-ion batteries.

Like graphite, Graphix is made of carbon atoms but in a different stacking arrangement (turbostratic) of the hexagonal planes. This stacking results in a wider spacing, facilitating the penetration of lithium ions. The result is higher storage (longer use between charges) and faster charging.
